A Guide to becoming a professional Irish Dancer

Our workshops are a one stop shop for aspiring dancers to be as prepared as they can be for the world of professional dancing. At 18 years of age, we both left our parents homes and embarked on the adventure of a lifetime with Lord of the Dance, however we didn't have a clue what this would entail!

We've designed a workshop like no other, where we prepare dancers for the road ahead, giving them all the information about the professional Irish Dancing scene that we wish we had all those years ago!

From pre-audition CV and show reel creation, packing and travel essentials, to show style hair and make up tips, we will take dancers through all there is to know about how to make it in this industry.

CV & Show Reel Creation

How do I even get into a show? This is our most popular question and during this segment you'll learn our top tips for getting your CV to stand out from the crowd.

Show Style Dancing

During this part of the day we'll get a sweat on! This is the first of 2 dance sessions, where we will teach you original choreography which will best prepare you for the stage, along with techniques used to obtain the stage presence needed when being a pro.

Hair & Make Up Tutorial

Our most popular part of the day! Maxine will take a tutorial where each participant will be able to learn and practice how to produce a flawless look for the bright lights of the stage!

On Stage Prep

Our second dance session will be all about teamwork and what to expect when you step foot on stage for your first rehearsal. The show stage is like no other and there is a reason the top shows make everything look so seamless with 20-40 dancers on stage. This class gives invaluable preparation!

Seminar

The part of the day where we share our top tips for making the most of your time on tour! Bring your notepads because we'll share all the do's and don'ts when it comes to travel, backstage and days off!
